On Tuesday 16 September, the Supernovas Investor Community will host an online workshop on how menstrual cycles and perimenopause shape women’s energy, performance, and leadership potential. The session will be led by Anna Lucia Pinto, Gender, Diversity and Inclusion Officer at EIT Urban Mobility.

Menstrual symptoms affect up to 70% of working women, costing an average of 23 workdays per year due to absenteeism and presenteeism. Despite this, workplace conversations around menstrual health often remain taboo or overlooked. This workshop challenges that silence, making the case for integrating menstrual awareness into professional life, not just for equity, but for productivity.

Research shows that when women are empowered to understand and align with their cycles, they experience measurable improvements in focus, energy, and decision-making. Organisations, too, benefit. Programmes that prioritise menstrual health report stronger engagement, reduced sick leave, and even over 2× ROI.

What to expect

Participants will:

  • Explore how the menstrual cycle impacts decision-making, productivity and leadership
  • Learn how to align workflows with natural energy shifts rather than fight against them
  • Gain science-backed strategies for healthier, more connected working lives

This event is open to Supernovas programme alumni, members of the Investor Community, and female professionals based in Europe, with a particular focus on women investors and business angels. Capacity is limited to 50 participants.
