In the investment landscape, access is everything. That is why Supernovas, the EIT Community’s initiative to boost gender diversity in entrepreneurship and investment, developed the Supernovas Data Room, a curated platform that helps investors discover high-potential startups founded or co-founded by women.
The Data Room brings together updated information from across the EIT ecosystem, covering startups that have participated in programmes by EIT Food, EIT Manufacturing and EIT Urban Mobility. These ventures are working on some of Europe’s most pressing challenges, from sustainable agriculture and alternative proteins to smart mobility and circular manufacturing.
Why this tool is needed
In Europe, only 30% of all startups and 15% of all deep tech startups are led by women. Despite growing awareness, gender disparity remains a significant barrier in entrepreneurship. Even more strikingly, just 2% of venture capital funding goes to all-female teams, and around 5% to mixed-gender teams.
To address this gap, the EIT Community has been actively supporting female entrepreneurship across industries through a wide range of programmes. Supernovas plays a key role in this effort, providing women entrepreneurs with visibility, training and access to funding opportunities.
The Data Room is a natural extension of this mission, designed to translate support into action by facilitating real connections between women-led startups and the investment community.
